Round 1 Jerry White throws a hard jab but Simmons throws a cross right over the top rocking Jerry White. A trip to the ground allows Simmons to move into the guard of Jerry White. White is almost caught in a omoplata but is able to work his way back to guard. An heel strike attempt is dodged by Simmons and he traps Jerry Whites extended leg to move to half guard. Fritz attempts to sink a neck crank from half guard. It does not appear to be tight enough as Jerry gives a thumbs up to the referee until he finally struggles out. White tries to slip his leg out to get full guard, but is having difficulty. Simmons is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Fritz Simmons fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with White. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Fritz takes the back of White who works for a kimura. Fritz pulls his arm out of the hold and push White away. Fritz lands a double jab. Jerry connects with a hard jab as Simmons attempts a wide outside hook. The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. Fritz keeps Jerry at a distance with some well timed jabs. A sloppy scooping ankle block is pulled of by Fritz. White is able to pull him into his guard. Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 The fighters circle each other. Simmons throws a few jabs at Jerry that miss the mark. Jerry lands a devastating overhand right on Simmons. Jerry White connects with a strong body shot combo. Simmonss legs are wobbled by a strong hook to the temple then a shovel punch to the jaw. White feints and follows up with a hard cross. Fritz Simmons stalks forward paws away with a couple jabs missing the mark. A jab from Simmons is blocked and a cross is returned by Jerry White. Round 3 is over.
Round 4 Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Fritz fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Jerry White. Simmons is in the clinch with Jerry, and changes levels for a beautiful double leg takedown. Fritz takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Whites guard. It doesn't pay off as Jerry makes his way to standing. Simmons narrowly dodges a cross from Jerry, but falls catching him in his guard. Jerry drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. Simmons goes for a kimura from the bottom, but Jerry slips out at the last second. Jerry tries to move to half guard but Fritz uses the opportunity to land several strikes and return to full guard. The bell signals the end of round 4.
Round 5 Jerry White connects with 1-2 jab hook combo and quickly steps away. Fritz hunts down his opponent and throws 2 heavy haymakers that get nothing but air. A trip to the ground allows Jerry to move into the guard of Simmons. Fritz sinks a deep kimura, but White slides out. This gives Fritz the chance to switch to half guard. Fritz goes to deep half guard and rocks forward then backward hitting a sweep on Jerry White and ending up in side control. Jerry is caught in side control. Fritz waits for the proper moment and locks an arm triangle. Jerry begins to struggle out. Fritz moves his body away from his opponent securing the choke deeper. Jerry taps out.
