Round 1 David hoists up Sergio in the air for a slam but Sergio makes himself too heavy and gets his feet back to the ground. Ramirez connects with numerous jabs to the face of Sergio. David Ramirez circles Sergio Leon, landing jabs at will. Both fighters begin to exchange "El Silbon" catches Leon with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Leon gather himself. Leon says he is ok and the fight continues. Sergio Leon is met with a cross and a liver shot that staggers him. "El Silbon" explodes with a flurry of punches. Sergio Leon is then thrown to the floor. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 "El Silbon" throws a cross that easily dodged by Leon. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. David Ramirez gets hit with a strong punch, putting him to the mat, but he recovers just in time to give up his back. Ramirez eats a few stiff shots from "Checho", and rolls giving mount to stop the ref from ending the fight. Leon throws some outside strikes at Ramirez. Sergio Leon begins to lose position so switches back to side control. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Leon eats a jab,jab, then a hook from David Ramirez. A trip to the ground allows David Ramirez to move into the guard of Sergio Leon. Sergio lands a stiff elbow while on his back. Ramirez presses the action while in the guard, but Sergio is able to switch him into mount. Sergio Leon punishes "El Silbon" with a series of strikes from the mount. David bucks off Sergio Leon and both fighters get to their feet. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 4 Leon executes a beautiful double leg takedown, putting Ramirez to the mat, and Leon into side control. Ramirez is wisely defending a kimura. Sergio attempts to take it but Ramirez is having none of it, though Sergio has used the chance the slide into mount. Sergio lands a double punch to the head of "El Silbon". "El Silbon" gives his back up trying to escape the mount. David tries to explode out the backdoor but Leon sinks in both hooks, continually landing outside strikes. David falls flat to protect himself. "Checho" slides off to the side of Ramirez and lands several heavy knees into his ribs. Before he can lose the position, "Checho" switches back to full back control. Round 4 comes to a close.
Round 5 David Ramirez hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Leon. "Checho" fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with David Ramirez. Sergio Leon takes David Ramirezs back standing. Ramirez isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Sergio Leon lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Ramirez to release. David circles "Checho", landing jabs and crosses at will. David connects with a series of punches forcing "Checho" into a clinch. "Checho" executes a an impressive greco-roman takedown from the clinch, putting him in guard. Ramirez fires elbows off his back to the top of the head of Sergio. A kimura attempt is defended well by "Checho" and he is able to sneak his leg through Davids loose guard, to half guard. Leon slips out of half guard and into side control. Leon throws his knee into the ribs of David Ramirez. "Checho" drops some good elbows to the face of David forcing him to give up his back. The bell signals the end of round 5.
