Round 1 James keeps Ryan at a distance with some well timed jabs. Russ Ryan stuffs a shot from James and hits him with an outside body shot. James gives up on the takedown and pulls guard. Hall begins to work the rubber guard. Ryan pushes down James Halls leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. James tries to slip his leg out to get full guard, but is having difficulty. Russ Ryan slams his knee into Halls ribs. Ryan slips out of half guard and into side control. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 James Hall snaps back the head of Ryan with a stiff jab. James Hall is staggered by a jab to the chin. Ryan fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with James. Hall escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Russ Ryan narrowly dodges a cross from Hall, but falls catching him in his guard. Hall takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Russ Ryans guard. It doesn't pay off as Russ makes his way to standing. James narrowly dodges a cross from Ryan, but falls catching him in his guard. James sets in an omaplata, forcing Russ to roll through, giving James side control. James attempts to mount, but gets a few punches from Russ for his troubles. Hall lands a few stiff elbows from side control. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Hall wraps around Ryans waist, and drags him to his back, taking side control James slides his knee across the body of Russ and takes full mount. Russ Ryan shifts his head and hips to keep James Hall off balance and unable to land strikes. Ryan gives his back up trying to escape the mount. James tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Ryan starts to wiggle out of back control, James lets him escape putting them both on their feet. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 4 "Shipwreck" is staggered by a jab to the chin. Russ stuffs a shot from "Shipwreck" and hits him with an outside body shot. "Shipwreck" gives up on the takedown and pulls guard. Hall goes for a kimura from the bottom, but Russ Ryan slips out at the last second. A kimura attempt is defended well by Russ and he is able to sneak his leg through Halls loose guard, to half guard. Russ slams his knee into Halls ribs. Russ tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. James Hall hips out allowing him to take Ryans back. Round 4 is over.

James connects with a right that puts Ryan off balance tumbling to the mat, as James towers over him. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
