Round 1 Phillips circles Kato, mixing jabs with body shots. Erik shoots a takedown from a distance putting Kuro on the ground. A deep cut is open up over the eye of "Kid" from strikes in the guard. The ref stops the fight so the doctor can look at it. The doctor says he can continue. A kimura attempt is defended well by Erik and he is able to sneak his leg through Kuros loose guard, to half guard. Phillips tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Phillips hits "Kid" with some punches to the side of the head. Erik opens a cut over the eye of Kato. The doctor takes a look at it, and says he's okay to continue. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Erik connects with a strong right hook. Erik Phillips narrowly dodges a cross from Kato, but falls catching him in his guard. Erik Phillips connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Kuro Kato presses the action while in the guard, but Erik is able to switch him into mount. Kato attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Phillips splits "Kids" nose open with a well timed punch. Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 Phillips connects with a strong right hook. Phillips circles Kato, landing jabs and crosses at will. The fighters circle each other. Erik ducks and weaves through a quick combo from Kuro and knocks him back with a shovel punch to the jaw. Erik Phillips parries "Kids" jab and connect with a cross. "Kid" snaps back the head of Erik with a stiff jab.Round 3 comes to a close.
