Round 1 "Nezumi" takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. The fighters circle each other. Osamu Sumitimo gets hit with a strong punch, putting him to the mat, but he recovers just in time to give up his back. Shannon lands a series of heavy punches forcing Osamu Sumitimo to roll to his back, giving Shannon mount. Osamu Sumitimo pulls Shannon close to avoid a flurry of strikes. Shannon throws some outside strikes at Sumitimo. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Sumitimo stuffs a takedown but is backed into a corner and must slide into guard to avoid being picked up. Shannon Brown pushes down Sumitimos leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Brown tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Brown slips out of half guard and into side control. Shannon drops some hammer fists on Osamu. Osamu takes a few knees to the body while under Browns side control. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 Shannon arm drags Osamu Sumitimo into a double leg takedown, getting half guard. Shannon Brown slips out of half guard and into side control. Osamu Sumitimo takes a few knees to the body while under Shannon Browns side control. Osamu gives his back in an attempt to get out of side control. As Shannon spins around to take it, Osamu makes his way back to his feet. A couple of powerful body shots forces Osamu back to the corner. Brown swims to double underhooks. Osamu cannot stop Brown from stepping back and taking him to the floor. Shannon Brown dodges a few strikes from Sumitimo and cuts him over his eye with a axe-handle strike. Sumitimo is starting to bleed over his left eye. Osamu is hit with a series of powerful punches while utilizing the guard. Sumitimo attempts an armbar from the bottom, but Shannon Brown slips out at the last moment.Round 3 comes to a close.
