Round 1 Reggie circles "SSP", landing jabs at will. St-Pierre keeps Colon at a distance with some well timed jabs. Sal St-Pierre circles Reggie, mixing jabs and leg kicks. After dodging a jab, Reggie lands a kick to the liver of "SSP" who steps back only to take a knee. Reggie rushes forward to capitalize but "SSP" falls to his back to avoid the onslaught. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Sal lands a left hook, only to follow up with a strong kick to the ribs. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. St-Pierre grabs the plum and lands a strong elbow that puts Colon on the floor. St-Pierre lays into Reggie Colons thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. Reggie Colon does so. Reggie Colon lands a strong outside leg kick but is hit with a heavy counter hook. St-Pierre connects with a series of punches forcing Reggie Colon into a clinch. St-Pierre grabs the plum and lands a strong elbow that cuts Colon under the eye. An attempt at a clinch takedown from St-Pierre is defended well by Reggie Colon. St-Pierre grabs an overhook, steps to the side to land two haymaker body shots, then an uppercut. St-Pierre returns to the clinch. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Reggie Colon is able to work to two overhooks and lands some strong knees and short hooks. Reggie breaks away from the clinch while delivering a knee. Sal is cut open by a standing elbow strike. The ref stops the fight. The doctor take a look at the cut and determines Sal can continue. Colon parries a jab but is caught by a strong leg kick. After dodging a jab-cross, Colon lands a kick to the liver of Sal St-Pierre who steps back and begins to take a knee. Colon rushes forward to capitalize but Sal St-Pierre stands back up and is met by a strong cross-uppercut that again backs him up. Reggie connects with a right that puts Sal off balance tumbling to the mat, as Reggie towers over him. Reggie drops a huge strike to Sals chin, landing into his guard. Round 3 comes to a close.
Round 4 Colon is cut open by a standing elbow strike. The ref stops the fight. The doctor take a look at the cut and determines Colon can continue. "SSP" sends Reggie to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Colon lands a stiff elbow while on his back. Reggie Colon gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Sal St-Pierre slams his knee into Reggie Colons ribs. "SSP" slips out of half guard and into side control. Reggie gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. Colon starts to wiggle out of back control, St-Pierre lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Colon snaps back the head of "SSP" with a stiff jab.Round 4 comes to a close.
Round 5 Reggie lands a solid kick to the front leg of Sal St-Pierre. Reggie Colon gets hit with a strong punch, putting him to the mat, but he recovers just in time to give up his back. Sal tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Reggie starts to wiggle out of back control, "SSP" lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Reggie Colon connects with a sweeping kick at the leg of Sal. Sal lands a hook to the body. Sal parries a jab but is hit with a powerful knee to that midsection that drops him to the floor. Round 5 comes to a close.
