Round 1 Hira executes a single leg giving him the back of Claude. Naoki is working a furious pace on Claude, intermingling strikes with positional dominance at will. Hughes starts to wiggle out of back control, Naoki Hira lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Claude shoots but "New Breed" stuffs it, eventually working in a whizzer and landing some sharp knees that allows him to move to side mount. Hira slides his knee across the body of Claude Hughes and takes full mount. Naoki maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Naoki Hira secures his position. Round 1 is finished.
Round 2 The fighters circle each other. Naoki Hira eats a strong cross as Hughes moves into the clinch. Hughes is jockeying for position in the clinch. "New Breed" goes for a hip throw of his own, but Claude is able to counter it, sending "New Breed" to the ground. Hughes lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Round 3 Naoki throws a cross that easily dodged by Claude Hughes. Hughes snaps back the head of Naoki Hira with a stiff jab. Hira throws a crisp jab, but Hughes slips it and moves in for the clinch. Claude Hughes is jockeying for position in the clinch. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. From the clinch, Claude Hughes hurls Naoki Hira over his hips dropping him hard to the mat.
