Round 1 Will Reeves sends Hughes to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. A kimura attempt is defended well by Will Reeves and he is able to sneak his leg through Hughess loose guard, to half guard. Will is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Will executes a double hand slap to the ears of Hughes. Harley Hughes gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Harley Hughes carefully protects himself from Wills strikes. Will Reeves tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 A double-leg shot is stuffed initially by Hughes, but Reeves is able to muscle through for a takedown. A right hand from Harley Hughes while in guard angers Will who returns the favor with a powerful right hand. Will takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Harley Hughess guard. It doesn't pay off as Harley makes his way to standing. Will lands a double jab. Hughes hits an uppercut to the head of Reeves followed by a hard hook. Will Reeves wraps around Harleys waist, and drags him to his back, taking side control Will Reeves attempts to mount, but gets a few punches from Harley Hughes for his troubles. Will postures up and lands a couple of strong elbows to the head of Hughes. Hughes rolls away from Will but Will follows him and takes his back. Round 2 is finished.
Round 3 Harley Hughes connects with a hard punch making Will bring him in to a tight clinch. Reeves works Hughes into the cage from the clinch. Reeves presses his head under Hughess chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Reeves takes Hughess back standing. Hughes isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Reeves lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Hughes to release. Harley Hughes throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Will Reeves is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. Will Reeves connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head.
