Davis shoots for a single leg but Gabriel is able to hop away, defending well. Davis takes the opportunity to execute a difficult double-ankle pick. Gabriel connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Pena attempts to transition to the butterfly guard but Dave Davis is too quick and takes half guard. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Davis fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Gabriel Pena. Dave lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. Davis dodges an uppercut to the chin, though loses his balance and falls to the ground, with Gabriel standing over him. Gabriel Pena attempts to drop a fist on Dave, but misses and lands in his guard. Davis attempts an armbar from the bottom, but Gabriel slips out at the last moment. Round 3 Dave Davis attempts a takedown, but Gabriel Pena clumsily falls down without much provocation. Davis attempts to drop a fist on Pena, but misses and lands in his guard. Pena connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Dave Davis drops a few strong punches, opening up Penas guard, giving him a chance to pass to mount. Gabriel Pena shifts his head and hips to keep Davis off balance and unable to land strikes. Pena gets pummeled by the fists of Dave Davis. Pena gives up his back in an attempt to escape, but doesn't quite make it. Giving up his back, Pena panics and gives up mount instead. Dave lands a double punch to the head of Pena. The bell signals the end of round 3.
