Round 1 Both fighters begin to exchange Jay catches Branden Cole with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Branden Cole gather himself. Branden Cole says he is ok and the fight continues. Jay Kim lands a hook to the body. Kim connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of Cole. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Jay Kim works to Brandens back while standing. Jay Kim throws a couple of outside shots until Cole is able to work his way back to the clinch. A strong elbow forces Branden to lose his balance and fall to the floor. Jay stands over Branden Cole, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Branden Cole cannot trap him in his guard and pushes him away instead. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Kim is hit with a cross and a liver shot and stumbles backward. Branden explodes forward with at superman punch that drops Kim to the canvas. Cole drops a huge strike to Jay Kims chin, landing into his guard. Branden drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. Branden takes advantage of a mental laps from Jay and moves into full mount. Branden throws some outside strikes at Kim. Jay gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Giving up his back, Jay panics and gives up mount instead. Jay bucks off Branden Cole sweeping him to his back and slickly transitions to side control. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 Branden Cole circles Jay Kim, landing a front snap kick that stuns him. Jay buckles Branden with a kick. Jay rushes forward to grab a guillotine, then falls to guard. Branden is in trouble but is able to muscles his way out of the choke. Jay lands a stiff elbow while on his back. Jay Kim gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Jay holds the head of Cole close to avoid shots. Cole slams shots to his opponents ribs and throws hard elbows to the thighs. Kim tries to slip his leg out to get full guard, but is having difficulty. Cole slips out of half guard and into side control. Round 3 is over.
