Gamboa is caught square on the jaw putting him to the canvas, He Xiao prepares to pounce, but Gamboa gets his bearings just in time. He pounces on Gamboa, but is met with a powerful upkick. He manages to land into side control though. Olavo Gamboa gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. The round comes to an end.

"Man" stands over Olavo, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Olavo is able to grab an arm and pull "Man" into his guard. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.

Round 5 He keeps Gamboa at a distance with some well timed jabs. He Xiao connects with a teep to the face of Olavo. A lazy leg kick from Gamboa is caught by Xiao who lands a huge overhand right, flooring Gamboa. Xiao lays into Olavo Gamboas thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. Gamboa does so. Olavo is hit with a jab then hook to the body and stumbles backward. He explodes forward with a push kick that puts Olavo on the canvas. He Xiao stands over Gamboa, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Gamboa cannot trap him in his guard and pushes him away instead. Xiao kicks at the legs of Olavo and then asks him to stand up. The referee tells Olavo to stand. The fighters circle each other. Olavo is on the receiving end of a good punching combination from He Xiao. Round 5 is finished.
