Round 1 Clay hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Artigas. Andre Artigas shoots but Clay James stuffs it, eventually working in a whizzer and landing some sharp knees that allows him to move to side mount. Clay lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Artigas gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. James peppers Andre Artigas with several shots to the face. James is working a furious pace on Andre Artigas, intermingling strikes with positional dominance at will. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 James gets hit with a strong punch, putting him to the mat, but he recovers just in time to give up his back. Clay tries to stand up but Andre plants him back down with several strikes. Clay James starts to wiggle out of back control, Andre Artigas lets him escape putting them both on their feet. A shot from Andre is countered by a guillotine from Clay. Andre follows through with a slam, landing in side mount, nullifying the choke. Artigas slides his knee across the body of Clay and takes full mount. Clay James lands a good elbow as Artigas lowers his torso. Clay James is hit with multiple punches, and taps out.
