Round 1 Ricardo feints and follows up with a hard crossto the head of Mereu. Ricardo Martinez gets hit with a strong punch, putting him to the mat, but he recovers just in time to give up his back. Ricardo carefully protects himself from Tancredo Mereus strikes. Ricardo slips out the back leading to both fighters standing up. Ricardo Martinez throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Tancredo Mereu is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. "Mister Perfect" parries a jab but leaves himself open for a hard cross. Martinez dodges a series of strikes from Tancredo Mereu and counters with a body shot and cross. Martinez then backs up and wags a finger at Tancredo Mereu. Round 1 is finished.
Round 2 Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. A wild hook from Ricardo Martinez is ducked by Tancredo Mereu who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. Ricardo Martinez hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Martinez throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from "Mister Perfect" puts Martinez on the mat giving his back up. Tancredo Mereu executes a double hand slap to the ears of Ricardo. Ricardo Martinez is able to make it back to the standing position.Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 "Mister Perfect" reaches down and trips Ricardo with a beautiful ankle pick. "Mister Perfect" dives into back control. Tancredo slides off to the side of Martinez and lands several heavy knees into his ribs. Before he can lose the position, Tancredo switches back to full back control. Ricardo Martinez starts to wiggle out of back control, "Mister Perfect" lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Ricardo Martinez shoots but "Mister Perfect" stuffs it, eventually working in a whizzer and landing some sharp knees that allows him to move to side mount. "Mister Perfect" slides his knee across the body of Ricardo Martinez and takes full mount. Martinez attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Tancredo Mereu secures his position. Round 3 is finished.
