Round 1 Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. Clark throws a cross that easily dodged by Hunter Beaton. Clark lands a looping hook to Hunter Beatons temple, backing him off. Clark follows with a lead-leg kick that buckles Beaton the ground. Joe kicks at the legs of Hunter Beaton and then asks him to stand up. The referee tells Hunter Beaton to stand. Hunter parries a jab but is hit with a powerful knee to that midsection that drops him to the floor. Clark lays into Hunters thighs with some well timed kicks while Hunter is grounded. Clark lays into Hunters thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. Beaton does so. Beaton is staggered by a jab to the chin. Both fighters move in to strike but miss their marks. As they jockey for position in the clinch Hunter Beaton wins the momentum battle and falls into side control on top of Joe. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Beaton starts to put on the pressure, forcing Clark back into the cage. Beaton takes advantage and clinches. Hunter Beaton is able to work to two overhooks and lands some strong knees and short hooks. Hunter Beaton pushes Clark into the cage. Clark works a whizzer and attempts to turn Hunter Beaton but Hunter Beaton illegally grabs the cage for leverage. The referee sees it and breaks the clinch for a restart. A wild hook from Hunter Beaton is ducked by Joe who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Joe works Hunter into the cage from the clinch. Joe presses his head under Beatons chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. An attempt at a clinch takedown from Hunter is defended well by Clark. Hunter grabs an overhook, steps to the side to land two haymaker body shots, then an uppercut. Hunter returns to the clinch. Beaton attempts a lazy shot from the tie up, Joe capitalizes by taking his back. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Hunter Beaton throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Clark is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. The fighters circle each other. A welt begins to form under Hunter Beatons eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Joe. Beaton hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Joe Clark throws a cross that easily dodged by Hunter Beaton. The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. The bell signals the end of round 3.
