Both fighters begin to exchange James Hammond catches Maxime Gerard with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Maxime Gerard gather himself. Maxime Gerard says he is ok and the fight continues. "El Cholo" dives in on a leg but Gerard defends well forcing "El Cholo" to get back to his feet into a clinch. "El Cholo" drops down and thrusts forward with a textbook double leg takedown. James grabs a leg and falls back to attack the ankle. James switches to a heel hook but loses his grip letting Maxime scrambles to his feet. A trip to the ground allows Hammond to move into the guard of Gerard. "El Cholo" snatches a leg and gets a tight grip around the achilles tendon. "El Cholo" wrenches back on the ankle of Maxime Gerard causing a tap out.
