Round 1 Cicero catches a leg kick from Julio, and puts him on the mat. Julio connects with several chop shots from the bottom. Almeida is pulled close and is hit with a couple of strong heel strikes to the back. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Julio Artigas throws a push kick. Almeida shucks it and strikes with a overhand that crashes into Artigass nose.
Almeida sends Artigas to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Almeida forces Artigass leg down, giving him the chance to pass into side control. Cicero Almeida slides his knee across the body of Julio Artigas and takes full mount. Cicero begins to lose position so switches back to side control.Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 Almeida snaps back the head of Julio Artigas with a stiff jab. Julio presses forward and is able to jump up and grab onto Cicero Almeida, aggressively pulling guard. Julio slides his body to the side and pushes out of guard. Almeida grabs a guillotine hold and forces Julio back down gaining side control. Julio sneaks a leg back under the body of Cicero Almeida to achieve a defensive half guard. Round 3 is over.
