Round 2 Banuelos connects with jab cross combination. Earl hits an uppercut to the head of Mauricio followed by a hard hook. Mauricio tries to hyperextend the knee of Earl with a kick to the kneecap. Earl hops back to avoid it. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Mauricio traps Russell in the cage, landing a few strong punches to the face and body. Mauricio Banuelos ducks and weaves through a quick combo from Russell and knocks him back with a shovel punch to the jaw. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.

Mauricio Banuelos attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. Earl Russell hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Mauricio Banuelos. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch.
