Round 1 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Rodri receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Riggs Ward. Rodri escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Ward sprawls a takedown attempt from Rodri Jimenez. Rodri Jimenez eats several punches on the way back to his feet. Ward is struck by a ball kick from Rodri that opens him up for a push kick to the midsection. Ward snaps back the head of Jimenez with a stiff jab. Ward attempts a takedown, but Jimenez clumsily falls down without much provocation. Riggs lays into Rodri Jimenezs thighs with some well timed kicks while Rodri is grounded. Round 1 is finished.
Round 2 Riggs Ward stuffs a shot from Jimenez and lands some powerful outside hammerfists, eventually taking side mount. "Mental" slides his knee across the body of Jimenez and takes full mount. Riggs Ward secures his position. Rodri Jimenez gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Jimenez tries to explode out the backdoor but Ward sinks in both hooks, continually landing outside strikes. Jimenez falls flat to protect himself. Riggs Ward peppers Rodri Jimenez with several shots to the face. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 Riggs Ward parries Rodris jab and connect with a cross. The fighters circle each other. Rodri takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Rodri Jimenez is staggered by a jab to the chin. Ward sprawls a takedown attempt from Rodri. Rodri eats several punches on the way back to his feet. Riggs is hit with a jab but is able to slip a cross and grab a arm-triangle in standing. Riggs trips Rodri to the floor, landing in side control. Round 3 comes to a close.
