Scott Jones rushes forward to capitalize but Bryan stands back up and is met by a strong cross-uppercut that again backs him up. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Scott Jones counters a jab with a stiff uppercut. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Simmons drops down and thrusts forward with a textbook double leg takedown. Scott attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. "Triple H" eats a stiff kick to the face. Scott Jones circles Bryan Simmons, mixing jabs and leg kicks. Bryan Simmons throws a kick to the midsection that is caught by "Bones". "Bones" lands a sweeping leg kick that puts Bryan Simmons on his back. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 Bryan throws a powerful left hook, but is met with a strong jab from Scott Jones. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Bryan Simmons drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Scott sets a guillotine choke but Bryan Simmons slips out at the last moment. Bryan Simmons is now caught in guard. Bryan Simmons backs out of the guard, and chooses to stand with his opponent, allowing him to his feet. Scott Jones attempts to clinch, but Bryan connects with an uppercut to the jaw. A jab from Bryan is blocked and a cross is returned by "Bones". Bryan keeps "Bones" at a distance with some well timed jabs. The bell signals the end of round 3.
