Round 1 Gelen winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. Alberto throws a few jabs at Jo that miss the mark. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Two quick punches opens up Gelen for a takedown. "Dead Shot" pushes in and executes a forward foot sweep that puts Gelen on his back. "Dead Shot" falls into side control. Alberto Santiago wraps the arm of Jo behind his back and traps it. Round 2 Gelen catches a leg kick from Alberto, and puts him on the mat. Jo Gelen pushes down "Dead Shots" leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Santiago defends short shots well by turning his head. Jo Gelen attempts to get a leg free to pass but Santiago has it locked down too well. Round 3 Alberto connects with a jab cross combination. Santiago throws a cross that easily dodged by Gelen. "Dead Shot" gets hit with a strong punch, putting him to the mat, but he recovers just in time to give up his back. Gelen peppers shot to the head of Alberto looking for an opening to apply a rear naked choke but Alberto is hand playing well. Alberto starts to wiggle out of back control, Jo Gelen lets him escape putting them both on their feet. A wild hook from "Dead Shot" is ducked by Jo who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. Santiago plows through Jo with a driving double leg takedown. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 4 Jo shoots a takedown from a distance putting Alberto on the ground. "Dead Shot" attempts an armbar. Jo Gelen time a spin perfectly landing a strong overhand as he works his way into "Dead Shots" guard. Alberto attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. Alberto Santiago connects with a jab cross combination. "Dead Shot" throws a push kick. Jo Gelen shucks it and strikes with a overhand that crashes into Santiagos nose.
Jo connects with a hard right hand putting Alberto on the mat. Jo goes down with him into side control. Jo Gelen lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Jo attempts to mount, but gets a few punches from Santiago for his troubles. Round 4 is finished.
Round 5 "Dead Shot" throws a cross that easily dodged by Jo Gelen. Jo connects with a hard punch making Alberto bring him in to a tight clinch. Jo uses his under and overhook to hit a solid body toss takedown, landing in full guard. Alberto Santiago backs out of the guard after some unsuccessful motions and both fighters are standing. A trip to the ground allows Santiago to move into the guard of Jo Gelen. A right hand from Gelen while in guard angers Alberto Santiago who returns the favor with a powerful right hand. Jo Gelen goes for a kimura from the bottom, but Alberto Santiago slips out at the last second. Alberto tries to move to half guard but Jo Gelen uses the opportunity to land several strikes and return to full guard. Round 5 is over.
